Nestled in the heart of Castle Pines, Buffalo Ridge Elementary is a public school that offers preschool through fifth-grade learning opportunities to both our community and open-enrolled students. Recognized as a six-time recipient of the John Irwin School of Excellence, BRE focuses on our student body's social, emotional, and academic growth. It provides a well-rounded education with enrichment opportunities in STEM, art, music, and physical education.
For the 2021-2022 school year, the staff at Buffalo Ridge Elementary has identified the
following systematic goals based on student needs and district initiatives:
School Goal #1 Priority Learning Outcomes
Through a Professional Learning Community model and a backward design approach, Buffalo Ridge Teachers will effectively implement the DCSD Priority Learning Outcomes in Reading, Writing, and Communication (RWC) and monitor student learning using a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to appropriately adjust instruction for those students performing on, above, and below grade-level expectations.
School Goal #2 MTSS
Using a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model, all BRE teachers will monitor their students' social and emotional well-being and provide the appropriate supports and interventions for those struggling. Student behaviors will be approached through a Positive Behaviors, Interventions, and Supports (PBIS) model to proactively address the needs of our students so all children can experience academic, social, and emotional success in and out of the classroom.
School Goal #3 Envision
Buffalo Ridge teachers will effectively and efficiently implement the Envision Math program in grades Kindergarten through Fifth and adjust instruction for those performing above or below grade-level expectations.
